10 Questions to Ask

  1. Is Senior Management/Administrations on-board with online learning?
  2. Is there an overall strategic plan and budget (and is it realistic to launch and sustain three years technology, staff, training, etc)?
  3. Internal: Are your employees on-board with online learning?
  4. Will the organization's culture support and sustain an online learning initiative?
  5. External: Are your customers on-board with online learning?
  6. Does the proposed "content" for a program make sense to go online (Fully online? Hybrid: blend of online and onsite? Supplemental material online?)
  7. Technology: Is easy to use? Are there tutorials to help users navigate the system? Is 24/7/365 technical support in place to support the online learning?
  8. Assess best practices. Have you consulted with individuals/companies who have gone online and "learned" their lessons so you don't have to repeat them?
  9. Ask and Beta Test. Have you asked your customers/employees what they think? Have you done a soft-test launch to get your feet wet before flipping the virtual switch?
  10. Are your trainers/facilitators/instructors ready, willing and eager to deliver their material in the online environment?
