A Digital Decade for SPL and e-Learning
In 1994, few people had even heard of, let alone logged-on to, the Internet. Less than 23% of US households even owned a personal computer at that time. To most people, the concepts of online learning and e-education were science fiction and part of a distant, incomprehensible future.
There were a few pioneers who understood that teaching and learning online would be essential to reaching the diverse learners who would emerge from the global economy. In 1994, a year before the release of Windows 95 and Internet Explorer, the seeds of online learning were planted at SPL.
SPL began providing e-learning services as an internal division of National University in 1996. Since then, SPL has grown into a leading e-learning provider and now serves clients of public and private populations and their learners from around the globe.
